Despite the organic doughs, I know a way to get your meal FREE! There is a blue point system going on at the big BB and if you come in with your whole body blue, with blue shoes, blue hat, blue floaties, blue hair(you get the idea) you can get your meal free. Let say you go in with your arms and legs painted blue you may get a sandwich, a bag of chips or maybe a cookie! It all depends how decked out in blue you are! What an awesome way to give back to the B/CS community with local organic ingredients! Wondering what organic bread means? Bread is bread right? Well to put it simply, organic bakeries use ingredients you actually recognize and can pronounce! For example, the bread includes wheat flour as opposed to enriched bleached flour. Who wants bleached flour and what does that even mean!? Going to Blue Baker means getting fresh, not to mention DELICIOUS, bread without stuff like azodicarbonamide or ammonium sulfate.

Bakers continued..
The second baker I am going to share with you is Blue Baker! I’m sure you’ve heard of Blue Baker? If you haven’t been there yet-go! Amazing breads, pastries and pizza dough’s made from scratch! This quaint college station born establishment also makes it easy for you to eat naturally because honestly, I go just for the fresh bread; it’s a weakness of mine.

Bakers you NEED to try!
Hi again! I see the cliff hanger I left you with worked! Now it is time to disclose the super-top-secret information I have gathered. Well I guess it’s not really that top secret considering this website >>eatwellguide.org is the holy grail of tracking down organic spots in YOUR town! You might be surprised to find little gold mines of natural foods in towns, like college station, that you had no idea existed! In all honesty, at first my mission for this blog was to bash the B/CS area for the lack of organic establishments there are but man, when I found all the listings I knew that I had to share this information! Since passing out fliers would be way too time consuming and expensive..this blog is perfect! :)
Let us start with the bakers in town! The newest baker is The Village Café in downtown Bryan. Between 80-90% of their ingredients are organic or natural. Quick side note: organic and natural are not the same! Organic is when food is produced using organic means approved by USDA standards and natural foods are chemically unaltered and straight from the chicken or soil its self! Either way you go it's a win/win if you ask me! Aside from the ingredients, The Village Café also contributes to the environment too! It refrains from using refined products, bleached flour, hydrogenated oils and microwaves. Even more outstanding facts about this wonderful place, if you can stand any more, they buy locally from more than 15 local growers AND they conserve water, recycle and reduce! I can talk about this place for days so do yourself a favor and visit The Village Café to see for yourself!
